About Phil Coatham
In Phil's own words
I really enjoy helping people overcome the challenges of learning to drive — especially those taking it on their second time around. A lot of my pupils struggled when they were younger, or never quite got the chance, and now find themselves needing to learn. I'm passionate about supporting nervous drivers who want to learn at their own pace, with no pressure.
Driving is a real life skill — I taught my own daughter to drive and saw first-hand the independence it brings. Outside the car I sail, and I keep pushing myself in that area too; putting myself back in the learner role regularly really helps me empathise with my pupils when they're finding something tricky.
